🤗 Positive Corner
“Each day comes bearing its gifts. Untie the ribbon.” ~ Ann Ruth Schabacker
Oh, isn’t this one just lovely?
Every day arrives like a surprise package - full of ordinary magic.
Sometimes it’s laughter with a friend, other times it’s that peaceful moment in the shower when no one’s calling your name.
Let’s promise each other: we’ll unwrap today with curiosity. No rushing, no pressure. Just... wonder.

Coretta Scott King
1927–2006
Conservatory-Trained Singer • Architect of the King Legacy • Peace Activist and Nonviolent Resister
Coretta Scott King grew up in the deep injustice of segregated Alabama.
Her family’s home and sawmill were deliberately burned to the ground by white neighbors, but Coretta refused to let hate determine her path.
She picked cotton and waited tables to pay for her education, and she never stopped believing that dignity and determination could change the world.
She was a gifted singer with a degree in music, but life called her to something even greater.
As the wife of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., she was not just a supportive partner.
She was a powerful voice for justice in her own right. When the Montgomery Bus Boycott launched the modern civil rights movement, Coretta was right there—organizing, marching, and advocating for nonviolent change.
Only four days after Martin’s assassination, Coretta led a march of 50,000 people through Atlanta.
She made it clear that the movement would not die with her husband.
She founded the King Center, led the charge to establish Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a national holiday, and continued fighting for equality around the world.
Often remembered as a widow, Coretta was a leader in her own right.
She stood against nuclear weapons, spoke out against the Vietnam War, protested apartheid, and was arrested for her activism alongside her children.
Her life was a living testament to the power of love, courage, and nonconformity.
She once said:
“The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists. In any cause that concerns the progress of mankind, put your faith in the nonconformist.”
Where in your life could you show up with boldness, even if it means standing apart from the crowd?
🧘Self Care in Action
Okay—this one’s for all my sisters who’ve been asking for a little help getting moving again. Not everyone wants a gym, a trainer, or a 60-minute class. I get it.
That’s why I am loving this sweet little tool: the Cordless Jump Rope.
It gives you all the benefits of jumping rope - heart health, balance, cardio -but without the clumsy tripping and the space-eating swing. No need for high ceilings or a backyard.
It’s quiet.
It’s compact.
It’s joint-friendly.
And it’s FUN. (Yes, really!)
I keep mine next to my desk. Between meetings or after lunch, I do a quick 2-3 minutes and feel re-energized without breaking into a full sweat.
If you’ve been looking for something simple to get your body moving without stress, this might be just the gentle push you need.
Check out the Cordless Jump Rope here and treat yourself to joyful movement.

📚 What We're Reading
Looking for your next great read? You have to check out "Untamed" by Glennon Doyle.
Jeannette, a long-time subscriber, wrote us this short review about her experience reading Untamed:
At first, it was hard to follow because I thought the writing style was just all over the place.
But as I moved through the book, I realized that what on the surface appeared to me as unorganized and all over the place started to shape into what we all know as the rhythm of life.
Untamed is a real-life journey through one women’s life but helps us all find a place to fit in and draw from her understanding and knowing along the way.
While there were some parts that I just couldn’t agree with or understand, I did not allow our differences to stop me from fully appreciating the little nuggets of wisdom she offered along her journey.
One of my many takeaways from this book is that it is so important for us to never lose ourselves and make it a point to find what makes us happy.
“We can do hard things.”
